Cisco’s fresh femur.
We have the bravest little border collie called Cisco who has taken the well deserved place of pet of the month in the clinic. Cisco was referred to our clinic from his home town in Kununarra to see Dr Scott Davis. He presented with a right distal femur fracture, with a fragment from the femur penetrating his skin.
We took some radio-graphs of Cisco’s femur and obtained suitable implants to plate his fracture. Without further or do Cisco received antibiotics, IV fluids, pain relief and a lot of sneaky cuddles from the nurses, then he was off into surgery! With the help of Dr Davis’s specialized equipment Cisco’s femur was platted and one more radio-graph of Cisco’s new and improved leg was taken to ensure the job was well done.
It has been over a month now and we are pleased to hear that Cisco’s recovery is going really well. A big shout out to Cisco’s amazing owners for going to great lengths to get their pup the treatment he needed. We wish him the best of luck with the rest of his recovery.
