Rex’s Recovery
A lot of you will know Rex as there was a lot of publicity about his case when he first came into the vets. He was brought in by the rangers as a stray who had been attacked by other dogs. He had horrendous wounds to his head and front legs. With no owner coming forward and a lot of medical treatment needed the Broome community fundraised to save Rex and SAFE took on his case. After a long surgery to clean his wounds and repair some of the trauma, he underwent dressing changes daily at the clinic for 8 weeks. Throughout all of his suffering and treatment Rex remained an excellent patient. He tolerated us cleaning his wounds and always wagged his tail when he came in to see us. Throughout his treatment he was fostered by SAFE president Wendy Roberts and once he returned to full health he was flown to a rescue organization in Perth where he found his forever home.
